Copenhagen Sustainability Challenge is an opportunity for students across Universities to join forces and solve some of Copenhagen’s challenges towards a more sustainable city.

The COVID-19 pandemic has changed our way of living as well as our possibilities and choices as tourists. In particular, the experience industry in Copenhagen was severely hit due to decreased international tourism. The situation is serious, but it may also create a unique opportunity to restart the experience economy in a more sustainable way.

We want to create opportunities for a new sustainable tourism in Copenhagen, that is considerate of the city, nature, inhabitants and climate – as well as of the economy, and we need your help to do so!

Do you want to work with sustainable behaviour among tourists to contribute to an ongoing strategy work with Wonderful Copenhagen and Copenhagen Municipality? Then sign up for the Copenhagen Sustainability Challenge  which will examine the topic of ‘Ideas for sustainable tourism’ on 12 and 13 March.

Meet among others behavioural economist Christina Gravert, the start-up Motes and Klaus Bondam, Director of the Cyclists’ Association, who is part of the judging panel, which will ultimately choose the best solution. Creative Business Network and the EU-funded CAST project will provide important knowledge for the challenge and the winning team will also get the chance to promote their idea through their channels.

You do not need any specific qualifications or have experience with innovation. The people in Actory, which roots in Studenterhuset, will guide your team though the process and provide tools and knowledge you might need along the way. The challenge will be held online due to the Covid-19 pandemic. All students at bachelor’s, master’s and PhD level can register here.
