More about the speakers
Rikke Toft Nørgård is an Associate Professor in Educational Design & Technology at The Danish School of Education, Aarhus University. Nørgård is in the steering group of Centre for Higher Education Futures (CHEF) and coordinator of the MA in ICT-based educational design. She is founder of the Playful University Platform, co-editor of The Journal of Play in Adulthood and is consortium partner lead in several funded projects with a particular focus on playfulness and the future of learning and education.
Some of her funded projects include: ‘Play&Learn Digimedia – Playful Learning Experiences’, ‘IGNITE – Design Thinking and Making in the Arts and Sciences’ and ‘AUFF Nova: Academic game jams & hackatons’. Dr. Nørgård’s research focuses on the complexities and interrelationships of technology, playfulness, education, design and philosophy in relation to future education. Nørgård has published numerous articles and given keynotes on playful learning, the relationship between playfulness, imagination and education as well as designs for future education with a focus on formats, challenges and potentials for new educational futures.
Jack Moran has worked in the QS Communications department for six years, having graduated from the University of Oxford in 2015. He now serves as one of QS’s senior spokespeople regarding the QS World University Rankings portfolio and the Wharton-QS Reimagine Education Conference. As QS’s primary point of liaison with the world’s media, he is well-placed to provide insight and detail on ranking methodologies, trends, and the relationship between government policy, institutional strategy, and ranking outcomes.
His commentaries on QS’s research have been featured in a variety of major media across the world, including The Guardian, O Globo, El Tiempo, The Indian Express, The Hindustan Times, The New Straits Times Online, The Malaysia Star, The Brussels Times, and The PIE News. Jack is also the primary point of contact for institutional communications teams in the following locations: Australia, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, Singapore, United Kingdom, United States. When not communicating QS’s research to the world, Jack enjoys long-distance running, Julian Barnes novels, musical theatre, and competing on the competitive Scrabble circuit.
