Did you know that more and more national and regional goverments are investing in their startup ecosystems? Entrepreneurship is synonymous with innovation and development, and India, with the 3rd largest startup ecosystem in the world, is one of the countries that knows it well.

The India CII Global Startup Summit celebrates and fosters entrepreneurship annually, and brings together top policy makers, industry, academia, investors, startups and all stakeholders from across the globe. From the 15 to the 17 March 2021, the Summit gathered conferences and exhibitions over a virtual platform, and we were invited to participate.

Within the session “Roundtable on incubation management systems in unleashing entrepreneurship and innovation”, we discussed the potential of incubator and accelerator programs in the startups, and at a larger scale, in innovation, sustainability, and economy. Further, we argued for a need for the policy makers to place startup development as a top priority.

After the Summit, the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) keeps working to support startups through other talks and activities.

Moreover, they just launched the National Centre for Innovation, Entrepreneurship and Start-ups in Hyderabad in partnership with the Government of Telangana and Pratiksha Trust.
