Javier is a founding partner at the investor services firm LDS Partners (investment decision systems, corporate governance and risk management) and board member at the growth capital firm GED. His current commitments include non-executive positions on the Advisory Council of CRECER+ (Business Angels initiative in the Basque Region). Javier is also advisor to and investor in several early stage companies and sits in boards of these companies regularly.

Javier Echarri began his career in the Mondragón Group followed by the Spanish Trade Body for Machine Tool Manufacturers. In 1992, he was appointed Secretary General of the Spanish Chamber of Commerce in the Benelux. From 1995, he worked at the BBVA bank as Institutional Banking Director in charge of the European Union institutions.

In 1999, Javier joined the EVCA, The European Private Equity and Venture Capital Association, and only a year later, became its fourth Secretary General, a position he held until end-2010. For 10 years, as head of the EVCA, Javier Echarri undertook a multitude of projects to improve the situation, knowledge and perspectives of entrepreneurship at large and the positive contribution of private equity and venture capital.
