Are you interested in how the Nordic and Baltic countries ecosystems are developing digital marketplaces for edtech and playful learning solutions? What are the main trends in the play & learn industry in the Nordics? Thursday 25 Februaryfrom 14:00 to 16:00 CET – the Creative Business Network and Marble will host a webinar and pitching session with startups and investors.

Iuliia Shnai, founder of Marble, will introduce a keynote speech by Peter Fagerström, co-founder and CEO of Teach Millions, the digital marketplace of Nordic edtech solutions born during the early days of 2020 lockdown, when edtech companies from the 8 Nordic-Baltic countries came together to offer their solutions to students and teachers for free.

A panel discussion will follow featuring Heini Karpinen, Chair at Edtech Finland, Charles Madon, EMEA Partner at LEGO Ventures. and Olli Vallo, CEO at Education Alliance Finland.

During the second half of the event, an investor panel will assess 5 Play & Learn startups from the Nordics pitching their projects on edtech, gamification and learning through play.

More about the speakers

Peter Fagerström is the co-founder and CEO of Teach Millions, founder and CEO of Educraftor, co-chair of Nordic Edtech Forum N8 and founding member and advisor to the board of Edtech Finland. Peter is also active as an experienced consultant for regional development and management systems, coach for team learning, blended learning, phenomenon-based learning and ICT as tools for learning and innovation.

Heini Karpinen - Edtech Finland - CBN

Heini Karpinen is is experienced in service design, business creation and education. She has strengthened the conditions of doing business in Edtech: creating better learning services, been a CEO of an impact-driven startup, co-founded and chaired a national Edtech industry association. Designing a functioning Edtech marketplace is one of the most interesting challenges that the European Edtech companies, technology giants, Academia, cities, government and other stakeholders have been talking about lately. What is the common denominator we could build our common vision on?

Charles Madon is a London-based investor at LEGO Ventures investing along the LEGO mission of Learning through Play, and focusing on EdTech across Western Europe and the Nordics. Prior to LEGO Ventures, Charles worked in London at Atami Capital, investing in consumer-facing startups in Europe and Southeast Asia, and in Montreal, in the investment divisions of TD and RBC. Charles started his career at iSentium Technologies, a fintech startup also based in Montreal. He holds an MBA with Distinction from the University of Oxford, a Bachelor of Commerce from McGill University, and is a CFA charterholder.

Iuliia Shnai - Marble

Iuliia Shnai is the CEO & Founder of Marble and a PhD in Education Technology (Flipped Classroom) LUT University, Finland. Marble is the interactive learning platform which helps to create stylish online academies and schools with simple training builder. Iuliia has experience in managing Erasmus+ projects in digital education – CEPHEI ( learning platform and community for industrial innovation.

Olli Vallo - EAF

Olli Vallo is a former teacher who five years ago started Education Alliance Finland, an alliance that focuses on evaluating the quality of learning solutions. Through the evaluation work of hundreds of products, they’ve gained significant insights on what are the key elements of an effective learning product.
