The Creative Business Cup Global Finals 2024 took place on June 3rd at the beautiful and historic Copenhagen City Hall, gathering startups, investors, speakers, ambassadors and creative leaders from around the world for a day full of inspiration, innovation, and meaningful networking. The day began with registration, welcoming attendees from more than 50 countries. The event officially opened with a welcome session featuring key figures such as Rasmus Wiinstedt Tscherning, Managing Director of Creative Business Network; Sophie Hæstorp Andersen, Lord Mayor of Copenhagen; and Henriette Søltoft, Deputy Director at the Danish Industries Confederation.

This was followed by the first main session titled “Jobs, growth, innovation, exports! And all that jazz!”, which included speeches from Mia Nyegaard, Mayor of Copenhagen; ambassadors from Czechia and Germany; and senior figures from the creative sector including Eva Leemet from Creative Estonia and Jacob Houlind, CEO of Banijay Nordic.

After a short networking break, the semi-finals took place, where 14 outstanding startups from the national finals pitched their innovative solutions to an international jury, who meticulously evaluated each startup based on key factors such as innovation, market potential, scalability, and overall business viability. These assessments ensured a fair and comprehensive selection process, identifying startups with the strongest potential for success in the creative industries. After a series of presentations, five startups emerged at the top.

This led into a keynote titled “Surviving to thriving: The evolution of community in a connected world”, delivered by Martin Petz, Co-Founder and CFO of HiveBrite. The programme then continued with a session on “Games for Culture and Society”, featuring speakers like Simon Egenfeldt-Nielsen, CEO of Serious Games Interactive; Jakob Ion Wille from the Royal Danish Academy; and Kathrine Fremming from Khora Virtual Reality. Later in the afternoon, the focus shifted to investment and scale-up strategies in the session “Helping investors find the next big thing”, presented by Thierry Baujard (Media Deals), Helena Rosandic (1MillionStartups), and Ece Elbirlik Urkmez (Inci Holding).

A final networking break preceded the much-anticipated Global Finals and Award Ceremony, where the top startups and winners were announced.
