The EU-funded project Tourban is launching an acceleration programme for Danish urban tourism SMEs. On July 9th 2021, we hosted the introductory session for SMEs to learn more about the accelerator.

Tourban is a COSME project that supports urban tourism SMEs in becoming more competitive and more sustainable – not only from an environmental but also from an economic and social point of view. It brings together eight partners from seven European cities: Amsterdam, Barcelona, Budapest, Copenhagen, Dubrovnik, Kiel, and Tallinn.

The project will provide those SMEs with the skills, capacity and financial resources they need to become catalysts for innovation and sustainability. This way, they will be able to reduce costs and resource consumption and increase their revenue streams through improved visibility and positioning. The project does this by launching the Sustainable Urban Tourism Acceleration Programme where selected SMEs receive mentoring and a grant of 10.000 Euro.

Creative Business Network is a partner in the Tourban project and on Friday, July the 9th we hosted a session, served as a teaser of the Sustainable Urban Tourism Acceleration Programme. Here, all interested SMEs were able to learn about the upcoming accelerator programme and ask questions.

Jakob Christian Ipland from Wonderful Copenhagen and Mathias Qvist Christensen from the Municipality of Copenhagen joined us to discuss some of the challenges sustainable tourism companies face as well as present best practices from the Copenhagen area to serve as inspiration.
